Using Feevy for Rising Voices

From Global Voices Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Each of the Rising Voices grantee projects has a page on the Rising Voices website that 1.) gives an introduction to the project, 2.) lists links to all related websites, 3.) shows a map of where the project is located, 4.) lists the latest feature posts about the project, and 5.) lists the latest updates from participants of the project.

In order to show the list of most recent updates from participants of each of the projects (along with photos of the participants) we use a service called Feevy. This guide will show you how to set up and maintain your project Feevy.

First, go to Feevy.com and click on "get your feevy now". You will be directed to a page where you must enter a username and password in order to create your account. (Unlike most services, you don't need to enter your email, but make sure to write down your password somewhere so that you don't forget it.)

Check the box that says "I agree with terms and conditions" and then press "Create my account". Next you will see a screen which says "Which blog do you want to appear on your Feevy?":

Enter the URL (the web address) of the first of your participant blogs. Feevy will automatically detect the RSS feed of the blog. Then press "next".

You are then given a choice. You can either upload a photograph of the blogger (this is best!) or you can choose one of the color avatars (for bloggers who prefer to remain anonymous). You can upload an image of the blogger from your computer:

And press "Submit". Feevy will automatically create a thumbnail from the photo. Then press "done, let's go back to my feevy".

And, once again, click on "+add another blogger". Once you have added all the participants of the project, then please send me the code which is listed under "This is your current feevy":
