We have a special arrangement with the citizen media photo agency Demotix for use of their photos.
All GV content editors have access to their "media-buyer" database, and all GV authors can choose images from Demotix that they would like to be used in their posts.

Demotix for Authors
Feel free to browse the Demotix database and signal to your editors which images you would like to use in your posts. Beautiful images make readers click on your posts!
Let you editor know of any images you want to use from Demotix when you submit your post for review. Only GV editors have access to the downloading database.

Demotix For Editors
You can choose Demotix images to add to stories or use images indicated by authors.

Downloading Images
Once you have logged in and identified the image you would like to download (like this one) please click the "high-res" button to download a good quality copy.
- You will be asked to "Accept" the terms and conditions.
- You will be asked to "Save" or "Open" the file.
Rename File
The file name of the image is a number. The first thing you should do is rename the file so it will be identifiable by search engines. This goes for any GV image uploaded to the GV WordPress system.
For instance: "Families-San-Miguel-Prison.jpg"
Credit/Attribution
Upload the photo as usual, but pay very special attention to the caption and link field.
- Link URL field must contain link to original photo page (like this one);
- Caption field must contain the info included in the caption by the Demotix photographer even if you need to edit the text for clarity or grammar;
- Time, place, and description must be very clear;
- The photographer must be named;
- Demotix must be listed as the copyright holder.
